Orakei is well services by buses and there is a railway station located opposite Orakei basin, on the Eastern line of the Auckland railway network.

Local options include Cesars Pizza Bar on Coates Ave, but the many options of the waterfront are just a moments drive away or a pleasant stroll along Tamaki Drive.
